City Plaza Wholesale research

YAY! Fieldtrip! We went all the way to Paya Lebar to see...er...female things!

I mean really, it was "Female only stores" in there... -_-"

Here are some of the photographs taken in the City Plaza Shopping Centre in Paya Lebar.

The exterior of a gem store. Gems are displayed in display cases easily seen from afar. The tabletops and interior of the shop is relatively cleared to show clearly to customers what things and services they offer. It is located within the centre ring of the shopping centre to ensure that customers from the other side of the shopping centre or another level may see their stark white interior of the shop (as if glowing, perhaps as a metaphor "glow like a gem") as a promotional strategy.

Tong Cheong (Soon Kee) Trading. This shop sells card games and game pieces such as mahjong. Though it has a rather old outward appearance, the shop sells a wide range of games that most in nowaday society play, like poker decks. The products that caught our attention when we entered the shop was the Bicycle poker decks, otherwise known as magic decks. They are clearly displayed, lined up against the glass of the display box right below the counter. The namecards of the shop was also situated near the entrance, not the cashier where most would be expected to buy things.

A typical WATSONS shop in City Plaza. Sells cosmetic or basic needs products. The products of the shop are packed in small packs to allow a wide variety of selection. Baskets are provided to allow shoppers to transport their selected goods to various places. Virtually no space in the shop is wasted for just promotion.
